This week I am carrying on With my chess cake. I am going to concentrate on the icing part this week
As usual I put my crumbcoat on. This time my cake broke and so I had to use a little extra icing to glue it together. I decided to make the white icing the base of the cake. For two reasons. One the white looks bigger so the squares won't look like they aren't the same height and two I can just use the leftovers of the white icing and make the chocolate icing.
The next step was to make the squares. I simply took a ruler and measured out the squares and drew the lines with a toothpick. Then with the chocolate icing I carefully iced the dark squares in.
The final step was to put the chocolates on the cake. I had to learn how to set up the pieces. I took an example of a chess set and put them in their place and when my dad came he said that I had the King and the Queen swopped. Lol so I guess I don't know everything about chess.
When I everyone saw the cake they were amazed at how real it looks. And everyone wanted a chocolate especially the children. We all had fun eating the cake and I even got a few requests from people. Please comment and let me know what you think of my cake.
