At Granville's work they had a baby shower for their cleaner and as a present from me and him I made a Baby Bib Kit Kat Cake. I had seen all these different types of|Kit Kat Cakes and was eager to try one so I used this opportuinity to make one.
I decided to put the Kit Kats on after I had decorated the cake. The reason being I didn't want to knock the chocolates off. I made the base yellow because yellow is such a happy colour and to me symbolises new beginings. So I iced the base a nice bright yellow.
Once the yellow icing was dry I drew a bib shape on the cake to see where I will put the pink icing, since the baby is a girl. I was going to make the icing stars but my Nana helped and said no rather make the icing smooth and then do a frill along the outside. It looked much better like that and the icing looked almost like a blanket stitch.
I took some purple and wrote her name in the bib in a number 1 writing tip. After I had done that I had some fondant flowers leftover from a previous cake and put three in a row at the bottom of the bib. At first I put the whole Kit Kats on the cake and then looking at it it looked too crowded so I cut the Kit Kats in half and used only half.
Patricia was overjoyed when she saw the cake and she loved it so much, she even took it home for her mom to see before she ate it. I love making speciality cakes and I can't wait to do another one. If you know anyone who might want one my prices are on my website and they can contact me.
